What we are learning in room 2 Reading:   Students will practice reading leveled readers with partners.Students will reread stories read for reading practice. They will learn to read words with the contractions 's, n't.    Students will continue working on sequencing events in stories read.  They will learn about characters, events, and the setting of the story. THEY WILL PRACTICE THEIR POLAR EXPRESS PARTS!

Language: Students will begin learning how to write a complete sentence and sentence rules.  We will write sentences together and independent stories.  Continue working on NOUNS(people, place, thing, animal).  Continue working on verbs (action words). We will begin working on different kinds of sentences (telling sentences that end with a period and questions that begin with a question word and end with a question mark). Continue to work on Adjectives (describing words). 

 Math:   Students will continue learning about related facts and fact families. You only change your parts to make fact families and related facts.  They will learn how to use addition to check subtraction facts.  

: Morning Meeting Board!

Social Studies: Students will  continue their journey on the POLAR EXPRESS! We will travel each day to a different state.  Students will be learning map skills and learning about our country.  We will finish and finally make it to the NORTH POLE! 

Grading Policy
**All assignments are weighed equally as daily grades.**
If your child receives below a 70 on a daily assignment, he/she may correct it.  Each corrected answer will be given 1/2 credit for a grade up to a 70.
