About Chief Vann

My name is Nick Vann.  My family and I are excited to be a part of the Bulldog family and such a great community.

I was a police office for the Garland police department in Garland Texas for 11 years. I began my career in the patrol unit where I had the opportunity to closely work with several units within the Garland Police department such as the Neighborhood Police Officers (NPO), Gang unit, Narcotic Unit, and the School Resource officers (SRO).  After working in patrol I spent two years working as a detective in the DISC unit (domestic violence and sex crimes) investigating crimes such as family domestics, child custody, missing children, sexual assault, and human trafficking.  I then had the opportunity to spend  several years in the crimes against persons unit (CAPERS) where we investigated crimes such as assaults, homicides, and officer involved shootings.

I have also had the opportunity to serve on the the Scurry-Rosser school board for three years.

It is a great honor and an absolute privilege to have this chance to serve your children, teachers, staff, and this great community here at Edgewood ISD.   It is truly a great day to be a Bulldog!
