Google Chrome is the suggested browser for EISD students to use.  If you do not have Google Chrome on your machine, please follow this link and download the latest version of Chrome.

When students are using Chrome, if they login to the browser, it will be easier for them to access links they have used before.

To login to Chrome, there are two options.  Some Chrome browsers will prompt you immediately: Already a Chrome user? Sign in  If you aren't prompted, you will need to click in the upper right hand corner and click turn on sync.

Once prompted, students will use their EISD email as their login.  EISD student emails are in the format where c is the first initial of first name, user is the full last name and XX is the year the student should graduate (or the first two numbers of their EISD student number).  Students should know their password.  If they are having problems remembering passwords, please fill out the Help Desk form and we will get back with you.

Computers are considered "high touch" surfaces by the CDC

Phones, keyboards, tablets, computer mice, and touchscreens make the CDC's list of "high touch" surfaces.  These surfaces need to be cleaned at least daily if not more often just like door knobs, tabletops, counters, sink fixtures, etc.  To clean your computer devices safely, the best option is a microfiber cloth with a disinfectant spray sprayed on the cloth not directly on the device, but in the magnitude of everything that is taking place, it will be safe to use a disinfectant wipe.  Do not spray anything directly on the computer and any cloth or wipe does not need to be wet enough to allow water to get into the device.

Many different devices including laptops, desktop computers, chromebooks, and tablets will suffice for use in EISD's eLearning environment.  If you have a device at home, we encourage you to make use of that personal device.  However, EISD is providing an opportunity to checkout a district-owned Chromebook for at-home instruction for grades PK-12 for students in need.

Devices will be distributed by curbside pick-up on Friday, March 27th per the plan outlined in the latest letter from the Superintendent.

We are providing families in need 1 device for 2 or fewer students or 2 devices for 3 or more students.  Need was discussed during the phone survey with your child's teacher.

Public Internet Access

Edgewood ISD:
The WiFi for our district is solid. We have connectivity in the parking lot near the High School.  During this time we have increased the signal on the outside of the building and opened our WiFi to a guest network so that students do not have to use their school password.  The WiFi you will choose to connect to is Edgewood-ISD Guest and the password is bulldogs.  We ask that if you are using our outside WiFi to connect that you please continue to practice the guidelines set in place by the CDC.  In addition to the CDC requirements, we specifically ask that you do NOT exit your vehicle.

Community Internet Providers:
Edgewood ISD is currently partnering with Community Internet Providers out of Wills Point to provide drive up internet access zones available for EISD students.  Again, please do NOT exit your vehicles while accessing any of these drive up locations.

  • Willow Springs Baptist Church - 919 VZCR 3103, Edgewood, TX  75117
  • Pleasant Union Baptist Church - 2360 VZCR 3701, Edgewood, TX  75117

In addition to the two specifically assigned to Edgewood, here are some other options CIP is offering:

  • Splash Kingdom – Interstate 20, Canton
  • First Monday Senior Center
  • Van Zandt Livestock Barn – Hwy 47 S
  • Ron’s Trading Post – Hwy 243
  • New Release Fellowship Baptist Church – Hwy 80

  • Elmo - Accero's Metal building – Hwy 80 (near Elmo)

To access Internet from any of these locations, choose the EISD WiFI option with a password of bulldogs.

Again, please remember that these locations are for drive up internet connectivity only.

On March 13, 2020, the Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, Ajit Pai, launched the Keep American Connected Pledge.  He emphasized the need to keep Americans connected during this time of serious disruption to our normal way of life.   Click here to read the pledge.

Below are some of the responses from companies on assistance to keep Americans connected.  Please note that not all of these may be offered in your specific residential area, but we wanted to provide as much information as possible to anyone with these carriers or looking to find a low-cost carrier during this time.
