Edgewood ISD Receives 3 Awards in Communications at TSPRA Annual Conference

This week, communication leaders from across Texas gathered for the Annual Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA) Conference in San Antonio, TX. The highlight of the event was the Annual Star Awards Ceremony, held last night, where Edgewood ISD’s Director of Technology and Communications, Mrs. Lori Tolar, was recognized for her work in school communications.

Mrs. Tolar, who competed against schools with fewer than 15,000 students, earned a total of three awards:

💜 Gold Award in the category of Invitation/Announcement/Postcard/Thank You Note (Under 15,000 students)

💜 Gold Award in Social Media Campaign (Under 15,000 students)

💜 Silver Award for Special Event (Under 15,000 students)

Mrs. Tolar submitted four entries that showcased some of the incredible work happening at Edgewood ISD throughout the past school year. Notable submissions included the district’s Family Science Night and the Eclipse Education Social Media Campaign, both of which highlighted the school’s efforts to engage students, families, and the community.

Submissions for the TSPRA Star Awards were due in October and encompass over 48 different categories, with eligibility for work created between August 2023 and June 2024. The awards acknowledge excellence in both print and electronic media for school communications professionals, education foundations, and associations across Texas.

The TSPRA Annual Star Awards are a prestigious recognition of excellence in school communications and public relations. Every year, the TSPRA celebrates communicators who demonstrate outstanding skill in crafting impactful messages and fostering community connections.
